About The Session:
Customers often say, “I have hearing aids but still have problems hearing.” This presentation is designed to help professionals to advise and counsel customers in order to improve communication outcomes and decrease frustration. Strategies range from improving communication with hearing care professionals to exploring cochlear implants as a next step. The presentation will also cover technology that can be used along with hearing aids to enhance performance and non-technological solutions, such as aural rehabilitation.

Cynthia Harmon:
has served as a Hard of Hearing Services Specialist for the N. C. Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing for over 10 years. She has also provided support to people with hearing loss through grassroots organizations for over 20 years. Cynthia uses a cochlear implant and hearing aid supplemented by a variety of assistive devices. She has a BA in Psychology from Wake Forest University.
